Xtra! Xtra! Git Yer Re-Creations Here!
I do re-creations too.
If you can’t afford the current prices being asked for Jack Kirby original comic book pages or covers but would still love to display your favorite piece in your home, for a fraction of the cost, consider a recreation. Please check out my re-creations gallery to see some examples of work I’ve done for other collectors. My price list is available upon request.
Comic Book Pencils
Throughout the site you’ll find galleries of artwork organized into “collections”. Each collection holds one or more galleries with a common criteria. For example, the ‘Comic Book Pencils‘ gallery is in the ‘Comic Book Collection‘, along with a gallery of ‘Comic Books Inking‘ and a gallery of ‘Comic Book Pencils [Inked by Others]‘. Check out all the collections from the ‘Collections’ menu at the top, and the galleries from the sub-menus of the same.
A Charlie Chan Resurgence?
There was once a dearth of readily available commercial releases from the Charlie Chan library but that is no longer the case. A quick check on Amazon returns over 128 DVD results making Chan accessible to current and future generations. Even YouTube boasts over 714 results for “Charlie Chan“, many of them full length videos including a rather nice print/upload of the earliest surviving of the Charlie Chan films, The Black Camel.
Before Captain America in 3D
Before there was Captain America in 3D there was Kirby.
“Jack Kirby (1917-1994)
Jack Kirby is widely recognized as one of the most influential and prolific artists in comics. He co-created such enduring characters as Captain America, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, the Hulk, and hundreds of others stretching back to the earliest days of the medium.” [from the Jack Kirby Museum]
